Nature’s claim
This is an abandoned building in Gaggiano, near Milano. This has been shot with my iPhone 2gs. The app used to shot the image was HDR Pro, cropping and adjustments were done using Snapseed, further editing was done using Dynamic Light, Modern Grunge and PhotoToaster.

I find abandoned structures strangely magical, romantic, but also full of life. This picture reminds me of a song by M83 titled “Midnight Souls Remain.” The song has no lyrics, but it is deeply moving in its soft (and barely there) use of a synthesizer. I sometimes wonder whether beautiful ghosts appear at night in abandoned structures to reminisce over old times. Again, beautiful picture.
Thank you! I will look for that song…
Fairytale like 🙂
OMG felt like I had returned to Italy…I love the architecture of this building.
This kind of looks like my last house, the day we moved in…
Needless to say the gardening took us weeks… well months actually.
I love all of the old buildings throughout Europe. We just don’t get them like that over here.

I love this photo! It makes me feel as if I was seeing this building thru a window on a moving train or a bus. I think it is because certain parts of the photo is blurred which for some reason is giving me the feeling of movement.. This is a very beautiful and interesting photo. Thanks for sharing!
This is beautiful. Love that architecture.
Oh my gosh, this is so rich, so lush, so saturated with color and texture! I can feel the wall, the ivy, the humidity, the chill. I smell the gardens. Fabulous shot!
