Time travel 2: China

Time travel 2: China

This is another work from the Time Travel series, China as seen from the sixties; the images on this series are not by me but are elaborated by me on iOS devices starting from photos, drawings and maps from old geography books.

The app used to shot the picture was Pro Camera, cropping and adjustments were done using Snapseed, further editing was done using Repix, Mextures, Fragments, Tangent and Filterstorm.

Time travel 1: China

Looking at old books in my mother’s home I found a weathered atlas, published in the 60s, with many pictures of the world in the 50s-60s. I love the style of those old photos and having used this book when I was a student browsing through them brought back memories of my childhood.

The idea of a series based on elaborating these old photos from around the world come out of a sudden and what you see here is the first installment of the Time Travel series, China as seen from the sixties.

2013 – an iPhoneographic year seen from now: most viewed works

2013 most viewed

After the end of a year, I like to look back to understand what happened: we are always rushing into the future and we seldom learn from our past, even recent. For 2013 I soon realized that many many things happened  in my Mobile Photographer life, and since I don’t like lengthy posts I decided to split it in small pills for your comfort.

These are the works that I published in 2013 and were most seen on rubicorno.com (left to right,  top to bottom):

New year resolutions

20140102-073117.jpg

Joanne Carter asked me and other talented iPhoneographers to write new year resolutions for our creative path. Below you can read my own, but I advise you to read the full article here.

‘What do I expect from 2014 ? I want to keep on developing my creativity and achieving higher levels in iPhoneography. How ? I will move outside of my comfort zone, shooting subjects that I never did before, editing with apps that are outside of my standard toolbox; I will work more following a project approach and will publish only the very best of my production: less is more. I am aiming at a breakthrough and this cannot be achieved without some level of violence on yourself. Equipment-wise, I have just upgraded to an iPhone 5s and acquired the new Olloclip lenses, I will upgrade soon to an iPad Air so I will be be able to start using ProCreate.

I wish a creative 2014 to all iPhoneographers, this will be our year!

Portfolio refresh

This site went through a major restyling one year ago, when I created the new Portfolio section with my best works at the time.

One year and many images later it was high time to refresh the content, so have a look at this new collection here.

Thanks for your continuing support, it means a lot to me!
